Meet Sandy

Austin TX Rolfer

I’m Sandy, a Certified Advanced Rolfer® and Rolf Movement Practitioner in Austin, TX, passionate about the transformative power of Rolfing Structural Integration. With 30 years of experience in this holistic bodywork modality, I’ve witnessed firsthand its profound effects on restoring balance, enhancing mobility, and alleviating pain.

Prior to training as a Rolfer, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. I spent almost 20 years as a critical care nurse, where I gained invaluable insights into the complexities of the human body. This background fueled my specialization in trauma-informed Rolfing Structural Integration for clients in Austin and beyond.

I firmly believe that movement is integral to physical health. Our bodies are designed to move, and when movement is restricted or imbalanced due to trauma, it can lead to discomfort and dysfunction. Through Rolfing, I help clients rediscover the joy of movement, empowering them to move with greater ease, efficiency, and freedom.

Beyond my practice, I’m committed to spreading awareness about movement and its benefits. I believe in empowering individuals to take an active role in their health and explore holistic approaches to healing.

I also trained in Equine Structural Integration and love working with horses and their riders. I offer sessions for horse riders in Austin to improve balance, alignment, and capabilities. I work with horses as well applying the principles of Rolfing Structural Integration for horses and their structure, helping t promote their well-being and enhance their performance.

Outside of work, I love being around horses, photography, and travel!

“The mechanics of how the body moves fascinates me! How is it possible for Mikhail Barishnikov to fly across the ballet stage, hip-hop street dancers to move in perfect synchronicity with each other, couples dancing the tango creating a story of passion? What does it take for Michael Jordan to make that incredible jump shot? How does it work to get up and walk after a bad accident or having suffered a stroke? These are the questions we can each ask ourselves and spend time exploring the range and possibility for our bodies. ”
